No Xero feed for your loan account? Import its statements as one.
Xero publishes a lending integration guide that lets platforms post feeds through the Bank Feeds API, but very few lenders have built one. The loan account sits in Xero with no feed and its drawdowns, interest and repayments go in by hand. StatementClear posts them as live feed lines.
The loan facility drips interest, fees and repayments into your position every month, and most platforms hand you a PDF and nothing else. So the loan account in Xero is either ignored until year end or rebuilt by hand every month. StatementClear posts those statements into Xero as a live bank feed, so the facility reconciles as you go.

Why lending platforms rarely have a Xero feed
Xero publishes a lending integration guide that lets platforms post feeds through the Bank Feeds API, but very few lenders have built one. Unless your platform is one of the rare exceptions, the loan account sits in Xero with no feed, and its drawdowns, interest and repayments have to be entered or imported by hand.
A loan account behaves like a bank account in reverse: drawdowns increase the balance, repayments reduce it, and interest is often capitalised straight onto the principal rather than paid out of your bank. Platform statements usually split each repayment into principal, interest and fee components - useful for the loan schedule, awkward for a feed that needs each movement stated once with the right direction. Many platforms only issue PDF statements, and some list transactions newest first or leave the running balance off entirely. StatementClear reads the PDF, keeps the direction of every movement straight with sign checks, and posts the loan activity into Xero as feed lines you can reconcile against the facility balance.
The manual way, every month
- Log in and export a statement (and hope the format didn't change)
- Reformat columns, dates and signs until Xero's importer accepts it
- Upload the CSV into the right account and pray nothing doubled up
- Eyeball the balance, fix what broke, repeat next month
And after all that, it still isn't a feed - it's a one-off import you'll redo next month.
The StatementClear way: a real feed
Upload the statement and it posts into Xero as a live bank feed through Xero's Bank Feeds API - deduped, balance-checked and ready to reconcile. Not another file to import. Converters hand you a CSV; this arrives in Xero the way a bank feed does.
- Step 1
Connect Xero
Link your org and pick the account that is missing transactions.
- Step 2
Upload your lending platform statement
PDF, CSV or Excel - whatever you can export. Map the columns once and we remember the mapping.
- Step 3
We check it first
Duplicates are skipped, the running balance is verified, and sign errors are caught before anything posts.
- Step 4
It lands as a feed
Clean lines arrive in Xero through the Bank Feeds API, ready to reconcile.

Everything above about what Xero's native feed covers, what its manual import accepts and how feed lines reach a bank account comes from Xero's own documentation. The relevant pages are below, so you can check the claim rather than take it.
