Your invoice finance facility has no Xero feed. Import its statements as one.

Most invoice-finance integrations pull invoice data out of Xero to make funding decisions; very few supply a bank feed for the finance account itself. The advances, collections, fees and retentions have no clean route in. StatementClear posts them into Xero as live bank feed lines.

An invoice-finance facility moves money constantly - advances out, collections in, fees deducted inside the account - and none of it reaches Xero on its own. Every month someone rebuilds the funding account from the platform's exports, and the books drift a little further from what the platform says you owe. StatementClear turns those same statements into a live bank feed in Xero, so the facility reconciles like any other account.

Why invoice-finance platforms rarely have a Xero feed

Some invoice-finance providers have built Xero integrations, but these mostly pull invoice data out of Xero to make funding decisions - very few supply a bank feed for the finance account itself. In most cases the funding account, with its advances, collections, fees and retentions, has no feed and no clean way into Xero.

Invoice-finance exports are built for credit control, not bookkeeping. The platform typically runs more than one ledger - a sales ledger, a current or funding account, and an availability figure - and only the current account represents real money movements that belong in a feed. Advances arrive as a percentage of invoice value, commonly 80 to 90 per cent, with the retention released when the customer pays; service fees and discount charges are deducted inside the account rather than invoiced separately. The exports often lack a running balance and mix ledger movements with cash movements, so a naive import double-counts the facility. StatementClear maps the current-account columns once, balance-checks line by line, and posts only genuine movements into the feed.

The manual way, every month

  • Log in and export a statement (and hope the format didn't change)
  • Reformat columns, dates and signs until Xero's importer accepts it
  • Upload the CSV into the right account and pray nothing doubled up
  • Eyeball the balance, fix what broke, repeat next month

And after all that, it still isn't a feed - it's a one-off import you'll redo next month.

The StatementClear way: a real feed

Upload the statement and it posts into Xero as a live bank feed through Xero's Bank Feeds API - deduped, balance-checked and ready to reconcile. Not another file to import. Converters hand you a CSV; this arrives in Xero the way a bank feed does.

  1. Step 1

    Connect Xero

Link your org and pick the account that is missing transactions.

  2. Step 2

    Upload your invoice-finance platform statement

PDF, CSV or Excel - whatever you can export. Map the columns once and we remember the mapping.

  3. Step 3

    We check it first

Duplicates are skipped, the running balance is verified, and sign errors are caught before anything posts.

  4. Step 4

    It lands as a feed

Clean lines arrive in Xero through the Bank Feeds API, ready to reconcile.

Questions about invoice-finance platforms and Xero

The current account - the one where advances, collections and fees actually move money. The sales ledger and the availability figure are not cash movements and should stay out of a bank feed. In Xero the facility usually sits as a bank-style account mirroring a current liability, and that is the account the feed posts into.

As their own feed lines, exactly as they appear on the statement. That is the point: discount charges and service fees become visible, reconcilable lines in Xero instead of an unexplained gap in the month-end balance.

A real feed. StatementClear posts through Xero's Bank Feeds API, so the facility's transactions land in Xero as live feed lines, ready to reconcile - not as a CSV you still have to import by hand. Converters give you another file; this gives you a feed.

That is the point of feeding it rather than importing it. Every advance, collection, fee and retention posts as a feed line and the running balance is checked as it goes, so the Xero account and the platform's statement agree instead of drifting apart each month.

Where this comes from

Everything above about what Xero's native feed covers, what its manual import accepts and how feed lines reach a bank account comes from Xero's own documentation. The relevant pages are below, so you can check the claim rather than take it.
