No Xero feed for your FX account? Import each currency as one.

Some FX and payments providers have built Xero integrations, but dedicated FX accounts, broker accounts and forward-contract facilities usually have none, and even where a feed exists it rarely covers every currency balance. StatementClear feeds each currency separately, with conversions matched across the pair.

An FX account is really several balances behind one login - one per currency, with trades that touch two of them at once - and usually no feed into Xero for any of it. Reconciling it means exporting per currency, reshaping each file and importing them one at a time, every month. StatementClear turns each currency's statement into a live feed in Xero instead, deduped and balance-checked.

Why FX accounts rarely have a Xero feed

A few FX and payments providers have built Xero integrations, and some multi-currency accounts from newer providers do offer feeds. Most dedicated FX accounts - broker accounts, forward-contract facilities, currency balances with specialist providers - have none, and even where a feed exists it rarely covers every currency balance you hold.

One FX relationship usually means several balances, and Xero needs a separate bank account, in the matching currency, for each one - posting a euro statement into a sterling account is how reconciliation dies. A single conversion appears as two movements, a debit in one currency and a credit in another, and depending on the provider the export shows both sides, one side, or a blended line with the rate baked in. Forward contracts, margin deposits and provider fees land in the same export as ordinary payments, and statement formats differ between the per-currency and whole-account views. StatementClear treats each currency as its own feed: upload that currency's statement, map it once, and the lines post into the matching Xero account with the running balance checked.

The manual way, every month

  • Log in and export a statement (and hope the format didn't change)
  • Reformat columns, dates and signs until Xero's importer accepts it
  • Upload the CSV into the right account and pray nothing doubled up
  • Eyeball the balance, fix what broke, repeat next month

And after all that, it still isn't a feed - it's a one-off import you'll redo next month.

The StatementClear way: a real feed

Upload the statement and it posts into Xero as a live bank feed through Xero's Bank Feeds API - deduped, balance-checked and ready to reconcile. Not another file to import. Converters hand you a CSV; this arrives in Xero the way a bank feed does.

  1. Step 1

    Connect Xero

Link your org and pick the account that has no feed.

  2. Step 2

    Upload your FX account statement

PDF, CSV or Excel - whatever you can export. Map the columns once and we remember the mapping.

  3. Step 3

    We check it first

Duplicates are skipped, the running balance is verified, and sign errors are caught before anything posts.

  4. Step 4

    It lands as a feed

Clean lines arrive in Xero through the Bank Feeds API, ready to reconcile.
